Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life!

img_7167

We love you, Mike!  Thank you for taking such great care of this wild bunch and for being a great example to us all.  You work hard to support our family and we sure appreciate you.  Maybe today you can sleep in a bit (until 6:45?), take a hot shower without being interrupted (well, by the kids that is), skip doing all the dishes (they can wait until tomorrow!), let the yard go (what’s one more week anyway?), take the day off (boss is out of town, anyway, right?), have a long lunch with 3 of your most favorite people (2 being preschoolers and decided how long “long” really is), and have a great night out with your wife!  Well… hopefully we will be able to pull a couple of those off for you today!

Thanks for a wonderful 16 years!  If I were good, I could list what we have done to celebrate your birthday for each year, but we all know that YOUR memory is much better than mine and I’m sure you will be able to recall every detail!  All I know is I am so glad we went on that blind date 16 years ago… you have made my life so much better for being in it!

HS Senior - Kelsey

HOT! HOT! HOT!  And we are not just talking about the 110 degree temps this afternoon!  Kelsey rocked this session!  I had a great time with her in downtown Scottsdale… I love all the bright colors and her GORGEOUS hair!  Here’s my FAV of the day… but we honestly got a lot of great ones.  I don’t know how she did it.  I was sweating like crazy and she looked great through the whole session.

Brooks - 4 1/2 months old!

Don’t let these images fool you… this sweet little guy wasn’t so sure about having his first photo shoot!  He sure gave mom and dad a run for their money, but in the end, we won and got some fantastic stuff!

Seriously… a dog and a 4 1/2 month old?  This recipe for disaster was anything but…

Newborn Album Sample

Here’s a few pages from a new sample album that will be going in a local OBGYN office, Paradise Valley OBGYN.  They have a wonderful group of doctors and staff over there!  I trusted the birth of my three kids to Dr. Newman, and although there are times I would gladly give one back, I can’t hold him completely responsible for the fact that my kids aren’t 100% perfect!

Banff and Lake Louise

My kids were so excited to be re-united with their cousins at their house in CANADA!

We had a great week up there - going to an indoor water park, the Calgary Zoo, River Rafting down the Elbow River, and hanging out enjoying some great cool weather.  My brother’s house is gorgeous, but the kids thought it was sooo cool because they had a basement with a projection screen (aka lifesize Mario & Luigi), a cool playroom loft, and woods and a river right outside their house.  We won’t mention the great balcony patio that they loved to toss soccer balls down to the backyard grass…

Anyway, I was very much looking forward to spending the day in Banff and Lake Louise.  I have heard about how amazing and beautiful it is, and it definitely did not disappoint.

I could not convince Kate that this was a lake… She insisted it was a swimming pool and that she wanted to go swimming.  Brrrrr…. Glacier water.  But I do have to agree… it is the most beautiful clear turquoise water I have ever seen!  And unfortunately, looks better than our swimming pool after the algae got to it!

Jennifer Garbett — Wow...i'm just barely getting to this post...that is absolutely AMAZING! The water and scenery are so beautiful. My husband is so jealous of your trip and is already trying to plan a smaller version sometime. You should make a book out of all of these amazing photos!   ( July 27, 2010 @ 11:51 pm )
