Kursty + Colton: New Mexico Wedding

Kursty and Colton met at school (USU).  She is applying to nursing school and he is working towards his MBA.  Kursty is very excited and proud to have her reception take place in her own back yard.  She has grown up watching other weddings there and now it is finally her turn!

Kursty wanted to show the guests where she came from and chose a vintage, country chic theme to inspire her wedding details.  Her favorite elements were the bright yellow flowers, dessert bar, and lantern centerpieces.  I have to agree!  I loved seeing the fun, happy, colors of this wedding, and the casual hometown feel of having the reception out on the family farm!  It was my first experience in New Mexico, and I was very excited to be a part of it!  The weather was gorgeous, the backdrop beautiful, and the family just amazing to work with!  All the best to you, Kursty and Colton!

Jennifer Garbett — Oh Marnee! This wedding and your coverage of it is just BEAUTIFUL! I love the attention to detail you put into all of the reception images, I love the farm shots and all the variety you covered shooting on that property! My favorites are the images in the grove of trees...so pretty! Great job, flawless work as always!   ( August 3, 2011 @ 12:07 pm )

Anne — So fun! I wish I could have had some of that scenery for my wedding. I love all the green and the gorgeous sky. The images are beautiful and all the details are captured so well!   ( August 4, 2011 @ 12:42 pm )

Melissa — I LOVE the colors, the field background, the lighting. The whole thing has a romantic soiree feel. The last pic is the best, the bride and groom look sooooo happy. Good job, Marnee.   ( August 4, 2011 @ 1:20 pm )

Ali and Mia

It’s the morning of the photoshoot… you know how it goes… running around trying to get everyone dressed, fed, to STAY CLEAN, happy.  I arrive and the girls are timid, but all smiles.  They start to warm up - and the session quickly progresses from those timid smiles to the show-off stage:  “Watch this!”  “Look at me!”  And just as quickly to the “I’m DOOOOOOOOOOOONEEEEEEE!”  stage!  And this is when a parents’ best friend comes in… the bribe.  All it took was the promise of a sucker, and we were able to quickly move through some of the family images before the promise of a sucker was no longer good enough.  I pushed my luck just a bit when Mia was finally awarded her prized sucker and asked if I could have it.  I was actually looking for the cute pouty lip, but what I got instead just melted my heart.  She stuck out her hand and handed me the sucker and said, “sure.”  Then what followed was something you couldn’t have scripted any better… she happily shared that sucker with her little sister.  This series is one of my favorites of two sisters.  I could only imagine the fighting and pushing and tears that would have erupted should this have been my two boys with just one sucker.  I suppose the difference between girls and boys… or probably more true, the payoff of some great parenting.  (insert jealous sigh here!)

Angela + Chris: The E-Session

Whew!  Another hot one!  It is a good thing I really do like these couples or else this would be pure torture spending a couple hours in 115+ degrees!  I’m not quite sure how Angela looks so great during it all and didn’t break a sweat… but it was well worth it!  I love what we were able to do and had a great time getting to know Angela’s fiance.  Although my Ryan wasn’t too sure he liked seeing Miss Angela with someone else.  You see, Miss Angela was his preschool teacher last year and he had the BIGGEST crush on her!  So cute.  He talked about her non-stop and asked 100 times a day when Miss Angela could come to his house to play basketball with him.  He started giving up recess to sit by her or draw her pictures.  All I’m saying is Chris is a pretty cool guy, but he really has some tough competition here!
