DC Ranch Family Session

I was impressed with this family of 7 that was up early and ready for family pictures by 7:45am!  What a fabulous group!!!  The youngest is in my son’s preschool class and it was so fun to finally connect faces, names, and family!

These guys were troopers as we walked all over the property, but got a lot of fun variety for them.  I love this series in the window…

I just love this image!!!  This little girl was not so sure about sitting in the window on her own, so mom jumped up there to be with her.  I love the instant ease and comfort that came over her here.

Anne — They are so cute! I especially like the last one. It is great how it subtly shows the dynamics between big and little sister.   ( October 27, 2010 @ 12:24 am )

Olson Family

Another beautiful family session from this fall.  This little girl reminds me of my Kate!  This is my third session with her.  I got to photograph her as a newborn and then this past spring during our Spring for Charity event.  It is always so much fun to watch how they grow.  Ahhhh… and they grow so fast.

LaTricia — I remember this family....wow, she's getting so big! What a great family. These are beautiful photos.   ( October 19, 2010 @ 11:22 pm )

Miss Macy and Mr. Luke

These two were some of my favorite little models from last year with their cute cowboy boots.  And I think they are topping the charts again this year!  I love the bright fun colors here!

Noni McMillan — I love Macy's big, exotic brown eyes and crooked smile. Luke is sporting a cool shirt and smile! They're stars!   ( December 15, 2010 @ 10:36 pm )

Stephanie

I love weddings… and I love newborn sessions… but there is something so rewarding and gratifying when creating a headshot for someone.  In an age of instant gratification and digital technology, personal connections are made online now.  Your first contact with people are through your website, facebook, or email…   Whether it is rightly justified or not, we are all judged from that first impression, and I feel like it is so vital to make sure it sends the message you want it to.  Current headshots are one of the most important tools for any business person.   People see who you are and are more likely to want to work with you. In contrast, an unflattering, badly posed or technically inferior headshot can work against you. You may be sending the message that you do not take yourself seriously, are not professional or may not give your client the attention he deserves.

I find myself all too often searching facebook for the new client that just called to inquire about my services.  While I listen to their needs, I am also curious to see who they are and what their style and interests are.  I can tell more in 3 seconds looking at a profile picture than I can after a 30 minute conversation with the person about their likes/dislikes.

This summer/fall I really have enjoyed being able to update people’s headshots.  Whether it is for the business exec that needs a more professional presence on his website or the stay at home mom that just wants a flattering image to show off for all those long lost high school friends on facebook, creating a headshot that you can feel great about is so rewarding!

Anyway, on to the photos… Meet Stephanie… yoga instructor…  She contacted me to get some updated headshots for her website and marketing material.  (yeah!)  I wish I knew more about yoga, but that is so far out of my comfort zone that I won’t even pretend to know what I’m talking about.  I was in absolute awe as I watched (almost forgetting to take the picture) as she pulled off some pretty insane poses.  But what I have showcased here are a few of my favorite headshots from our session.
