I love the colors, shapes, and style of the Tempe Center for the Arts! It is such a great place for some fun, bright and contemporary images. I have been photographing these two for the last several years and I just love seeing them grow!

I was able to take some great newborn images of this handsome guy last year. He rocked his newborn session, and pretty much did the same this year. It is fun to see how much they grow and how their little personalities emerge. Of course, family photos with a one-year old are all on THEIR terms! That’s what makes it fun! I love the bright colors here! I have some fun ideas for their Christmas card!!! We have a lot of pressure… last year’s was a hit and one of my personal favorites!
And, of course, we had to finish the HOT HOT HOT September morning with a little dip in the water! I’m not sure who had more fun, Josh, or the rest of us watching him!

It was such a pleasure to meet this great family. I had a fun evening getting to know them and enjoy their beautiful Desert Mountain home and gorgeous views. I just LOVE their BRIGHT colors!
Seriously, the blonde hair and blue eyes are just killing me! Don’t know if you can get any cuter!!!!
Ummmm… a little team spirit and friendly rivalry going on here…..

I’m so excited to post some images from Raquel and Jim’s Villa Siena wedding. Raquel is one of those people that just makes you feel good just being around her. She is so positive and happy and ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I was looking forward to meeting this man that swept her off her feet, and it was hard not to see why! Jim kept us laughing and having a great time! Their wedding was absolutely beautiful and Raquel did an amazing job with all of the details! (By the way, she made ALL of the jewelry!!!!) And I just love her dress!
And as you all know, I just love when couples set up a special first look…
I love this shot that my second shooter, Erika Snow, got during the ceremony. Jim interrupted the ceremony and asked if he could have a minute… then pulled out this (EMPTY) flask. You’ve got to love a guy with a good sense of humor… and a girl that enjoys it as well!

I can’t believe my baby girl is 3! She has grown up so fast, but I must say that I am really really enjoying this time! She was the best baby and I really did enjoy her quiet personality and the time with her as a baby, but I am really loving her little personality and this stage in life right now. I will admit, there are times when I would trade in the whining and sass for the crying that could be soothed with a bottle or nap. But the cute little comments and questions, her style and imagination, and her over the top girly-ness (who knew I would have a girly girl?) is what makes my day.
She changes clothes at least 10 times a day and must always have coordinating shoes, bow, and jewelry… and a purse! She lays out at least one if not 5-6 outfits every night for the next day. And when I say “lays out” I mean, in the form of a person… shirt, pants, socks, shoes, and on top, headband/bow. She also layers on jewelry and a purse.
Her very favorite thing is CINDERELLA and the color pink. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her dog, Reeces, and especially Aunt Anne’s dog, Abby. She is constantly taking her stuffed animal dogs on walks and feeding them.
She loves to sing and dance, put on make-up, get glittery fingernail and toenail polish, and get her hair done.
But at the same time, she will wrestle, play soccer or basketball, and fight just as rough and dirty as her brothers. Whatever they can do, so can she!
This summer she was cliff diving off of 10+ foot cliffs because that is what the boys were doing! She is anxiously awaiting to be “big enough” to do all the roller-coasters at Disneyland with her brothers and was THRILLED this last time we went that she was big enough to go on the Matterhorn. If you ask her what her favorite ride is, she will say the Matterhorn with the big scary monster with red eyes. The second time on the ride, I looked at her and she had her eyes closed as we were starting to take off. I asked her if she was scared. She said, “No mom… it is scarier in the dark, so you just have to close your eyes!”
Miss Kate FINALLY got her chance to start preschool this year and she is beyond thrilled to finally be off to school like her big brothers. I only put her in 2 days because she was not even 3 yet, but she is so mad on the days that just Ryan goes to school that she can’t go too, that I may need to re-think this decision!
Her “I Can Do It Myself” and “I’m Big Enough” attitude has lead to numerous disasters in the kitchen… full gallons of milk dumped out as she helps herself to a glass of milk… cheerios all over the floor as she pours herself a bowl of cereal.. And a couple mishaps with scissors and her hair!
And even though we get our fair share of bossiness and sassiness from her, she does it in a way with a twinkle in her eye and perfect 3-year old reasoning, that somehow she has everyone around her convinced that her way is the best.
Oh, Miss Kate! We sure love you and appreciate all the laughter, love, and happiness you bring to our home. And although you are already convinced your birthday came and went 2 weeks ago when we celebrated your party… here’s to a very special happy birthday and to a wonderful year!
Here’s a little snapshot of Kate’s Ladybug Picnic!
(Thank you to my parents for letting us host this party in their yard… my sister, Anne, for once again creating AMAZING cupcakes, and for my sister in law, Becca for the hours of tedious work creating the fruit flower baskets and the ladybug crackers!)
So, I was actually really excited about this part of the party. I had ordered live ladybugs online that I had in my fridge for ALMOST A WEEK and was going to let all the kids hold them and release them in to the garden at the end of the party. Of course, my mommy brain totally failed me and it wasn’t until after everyone left that I realized I forgot to do that part! Well, I was not about to keep the bugs in my fridge any longer, so my kids and my nephew got to release 1500 ladybugs into the plants! The kids really had fun with this! I wish I could have done it with everyone…
