Jester’z

My dear friends, Jef and Shurlin own and run Theater 168, home of the Jester’z Improv Troupe.  If you haven’t been there, you need to go check them out!  These guys put on a great family-friendly show.

I had the opportunity to shoot these guys in action this week and just had to share.  This is the one time that a picture is NOT worth a 1000 words…

Kindergarten! Yipee!

Wow!  Is this day really here?  Am I really old enough to have a child in kindergarten?  Is he really this old?

We are ALL very excited for this day.  I think Parker has been counting down for almost a year now.  He was in the 4-year old class in preschool, so when his birthday came in January and he turned 5, he was SURE it was finally time for him to move on to Kindergarten - because you go to kindergarten when you are 5.  He is more than ready and excited to start 5 FULL days a week.

Ryan has been telling everyone that Parker is starting kindergarten and I think he is just as excited!  He will rule the house for the next 2 weeks until his preschool starts.  Although the fighting will be at a minimum, I think he is really going to miss the interaction he had with Parker this summer.  They really did learn to become good buddies.

And for me… I’m thrilled this day is here!  I know Parker will do well.  He loves learning and school…. and I’m excited for him.  I may just be the only mom who didn’t shed a tear today, but I really am not sad that my little boy is growing up.  I’m really really enjoying this age.  Parker has always been a great kid, but I think 4 and 5 have been great years.  He’s my little buddy and I am thrilled to see him grow and learn at school.  OK, and let’s be really honest here… I’m THRILLED that he will be at school ALL DAY!  Wahoo!  This is going to be good for everyone!  Kate is more than ready for some one on one time, and Ryan deserves a chance to be the oldest around here (at least for part of the day!)

Now… when Kate goes to kindergarten, I’m thinking it may be a different story, but for now, it is all celebrations today!

I love you, Parker!  You make us so proud!!!  Good luck today!  I can’t wait to hear all about it.  Tomorrow… the school bus for the first time.  I think this is what he is really excited about!

Jane — By the way -- where did my little boy go. This picture makes Parker look like he is ready for middle school. Parker, I just hope you always remember your promise to me if you INSIST on growing up and getting so big.   ( August 10, 2009 @ 4:58 pm )

Cameron & Landon

Remember this little guy?

Well, he is growing up and these two brothers couldn’t be more fun.  Cameron is just the sweetest little guy - a pure delight to photograph.  And Landon is pure boy… endless amounts of energy and attitude!

I did mention the attitude, right?  How sweet is this series?  I think I have something very similar of my Ryan when he was this age.  Just classic!

Apparently Landon didn’t think that scrumptious looking strawberry wast very appetizing… but someone else sure did.

And the other somewhat more neglected (sorry, just happens with 2 young kids) member of this family…

Anne — So when are you going to start your pet photography division? That is a great picture! As hard as it is to get a good picture of a kid smiling, I think even fewer photographers can get a good picture of a dog smiling!   ( August 7, 2009 @ 3:21 pm )

Kristin — These precious boys are my nephews who I do not get to see very often, thank you so much for posting these. You did a wonderful job with them!!   ( August 12, 2009 @ 6:33 pm )
