Sedona

My incredibly fun and SPONTANEOUS husband decided that it would be fun to drive up to Sedona for an afternoon picnic and walk.  So, Sunday, immediately after church, that is just what we did.

Sedona was perfect!  The weather was just right, the leaves were just starting to change, and the area around slide rock wasn’t crowded, so we were able to walk, climb, and take lots of pictures.

The car ride up and back… well, that didn’t quite go as planned.  I was so hoping 3 very tired kids and one very tired mom would all get a nap, but that was indeed wishful thinking.

Despite 5 hours in the car for a few hours of time up in Sedona… it was well worth the memories (and pictures)… don’t you think?

Jen — Looks like so much fun! Parker is so dang cute...eat him up right now, he will grow up SO much between 4 and 5! I miss Brennan with that little innocent "boyish" look!   ( October 26, 2008 @ 4:11 pm )

Jane — Looks like a fun trip. Love the picture of Mike and Kate. She looks so content and proud to be "alone" with her dad.   ( October 26, 2008 @ 11:05 pm )

Mandy — Time well spent, just for these great pictures. How nice that Mike was so spontaneous. I only wish your kids would have napped for you. Oh, well! They look happy and that's all that matters.   ( October 27, 2008 @ 11:15 am )

Becca — How fun! I can't believe how grown up they are all looking. Can't wait to see you guys in a month.   ( October 31, 2008 @ 11:12 am )

Kristin and Lee

Kristin and Lee were married last Saturday at St. Bernadette’s Church in Scottsdale.  Kristin mentioned that we probably wouldn’t do too many pictures at the church as it wasn’t that “pretty”.  Well… it wasn’t fancy or ornate, but it didn’t matter.  The ceremony was so perfect!  It was just about them… their love and friendship, and their family and friends.  I really loved the simple elegance of it all - very meaningful.

I loved walking into the classroom that Kristin was getting ready in to see all the flowers lined up just like this…

After the ceremony, Kristin and Lee had a bus take the family and wedding party to the reception.  On the way, we stopped by one of their favorite bars, Brokers Bar & Grill.  These were my favorite images of the day… everyone was relaxed and having a good time, plus that little bar is so fun to photograph in!

I love how Kristin is asking Lee what he thinks about her dress… Hello… she’s HOT! I don’t think anyone would disagree.

They had their reception at Firerock in Fountain Hills… GORGEOUS!  I love shooting up there.

I love the creative way to number the tables…

Any brides out there looking for a good maid of honor?  Look at these skills… Lee, you have the dress fluffing down!

They decided to do a build your own cheesecake bar instead of a wedding cake… how cool is that?  I personally love wedding cake - and usually end up eating it every weekend, but LOVED the variety and cheesecake option!  And, yes… I do have to admit… it is a little tastier than cake.

Instead of the bouquet/garter toss, they did an anniversary dance spotlighting both of their parents’ anniversaries this month.  I love seeing strong family bonds like this… Kristin and Lee really are lucky to have such wonderful examples of a good marriage!

And, finally… the FIRErock shot… Lee, I know you pretended to be done with pictures, but you were such a good sport, and I KNOW you secretly love all of these great images we got!

Thank you Kristin and Lee for having me be a part of your day… and thank you Mandy for all your help assisting at this one!  Check back in a week or so for a link to all of their images!  Don’t forget to leave a comment below! Thanks

Megan - Save the Date

Hey Megan…

Here are a few options.  For the most part they are very simple.  I know that you stated when we met that you like things simple and understated.  I added a few playful elements on a few of the designs since the pics were so playful.  I did like the pictures all in black and white best, but if you want color, we can do that.  I also tried to play off of your black/white/bright pink color scheme.  We can definitely change up the colors as well.

Let me know what you would like to go with and if you have any changes.  Thanks!

Marnee

Miss Kate

Happy Birthday, baby girl… (yes, one month late, but I am now getting around to your birthday post).

I said this before, but I really don’t know where this last year has gone.  You have grown up sooo quickly.  You are such a great addition to our family.  The easiest baby EVER!  You truly are a blessing in our lives.

Thank you, LaTricia, for getting these great pictures of Kate and me.  I need to be better about getting in some of the shots instead of always taking them.  I’m already starting to regret that my kids will grow up and look back at all of these amazing pictures and wonder why they didn’t have a mom around!  :)
