The Album - Becca & Jake

Not much to say… I think the pictures truly sum up this wedding.  There are lots more pages… do you think Becca is going to enjoy showing this one off?

Hi Sam!

I love this shot.  He’s like, cool, take my pic.  I’m just chilling here in the middle of the desert, totally naked. Oh, Sam… the things we do for a great image.  There are lots more… and they are ready to be viewed. Click here to view the online gallery.  Please email me or Karen to get the password.

Under Repair

1617200039.jpg

Please be patient!  Life was going great.  I was getting organized.  (Or as much as you can with 3 kids 4 and under, a home based business, and no sleep!)  Well, out of the middle of no-where, our wonderful nanny quit.  We all loved her and appreciated all she did for the family.  So, needless to say, I’m back to the ever-draining process of finding child-care help once again, working in the middle of the night to get the work done I just can’t accomplish with three little ones hanging on me during the day, and trying to not break down and cry.  Maybe I did just a little…  The point is, I’ll respond to emails quickly.  I’ll get to the returned phone calls when I get the first quiet moment, and I’ll do my best to stay on top of everything, but please be patient as I try and get re-organized yet again.  Hmmm… maybe this organization thing is over-rated!

Jen — It's so hard to find good help that is reliable! I feel for you, I don't know how you even get grocery shopping done much less design albums, edit so quickly and function on such little sleep! I'd love to help with the kiddos, my kids would love a playdate with yours. Hey, Kate could teach Emery a thing or two about growing up, like maybe how to roll over! Sorry your nanny didn't work out.   ( September 12, 2008 @ 3:13 pm )

Twas the Night Before Christmas

…Maybe 100 nights before Christmas, but really… it will be here before you know it, and that means it is time to start thinking about those Christmas Cards.

It’s my goal this year to really enjoy the holidays with my kids, so I’m getting really organized.  OK, I’m wanting to get really organized, and here’s my attempt.

I’ve got a several dates and locations pre-selected for the family* holiday card portrait session. (*or just kids, or just couples, or just the goldfish… whatever makes you happy).

Our commissioning rate is $450.  $150 covers the session fee, and $300 of that is applied towards your portrait or card order.  Now here’s the SPECIAL… the SALE… the big DEAL… If you get 2 other families to book with you at the same location/date, you can SPLIT the session fee.  That’s $100 off!  (I’ll leave my Santa wish list in another post for ideas on how you can spend that $100!)

OK, here’s the line-up.  I am cutting back this year, so reserve your spot early!

Monday, September 22 (late afternoon) – DC Marketplace

Wednesday, October 2 (late afternoon) – Tempe Town Lake Area

Saturday, October 4 – Desert Botanical Gardens

Friday, October 10 (late afternoon)– Old Town, Scottsdale

Thursday, October 16 (late afternoon)– Local Resort (Scottsdale Airpark)

Friday, October 24 (morning)- Local Resort (Camelback area)

Saturday, October 25 – DC Marketplace

I really enjoy creating custom holiday cards to fit your style and the image.  I charge $95.00 to custom-design a card.  These include photocards, press-printed flat cards, or the folded card.  We can incorporate multiple images, text, and greetings.

In addition to the custom cards, you can choose from the variety of card designs below for no additional cost (just the cost of the card).  These cards can have custom text added as well as customize the colors in the card to best compliment the image.  All styles can be created for a photocard, flat press-printed card, or a fold-over card.

All cards are either 5×7 or 5×5 and include envelopes.  There are three printing styles available- photocards, flat cards, and folded cards.  Pricing is quoted for sets of 24.

PHOTOCARD (printed on photographic paper)

24 - $37.50

FLAT CARD (press printed on high quality cardstock, similar to greeting cards - can be printed in fine art linen, watercolor, standard gloss, and metallic pearl (15% upcharge.)

24 - $50.00

FOLDED CARD (press printed card style, similar to greeting cards - can be printed in fine art linen, watercolor, standard gloss, and metallic pearl printing available on all 4 sides)

24 - $75.00

And now for the samples.

LaTricia — Oh My Gosh....I love the naughty or nice one, you have my mind working. I can't wait to do ours.   ( September 10, 2008 @ 10:29 pm )

Jane — What a great idea. You certainly have a lot of predesigned choices. I guess you leave me with no excuses this year for not sending out Christmas cards.   ( September 11, 2008 @ 9:14 pm )

Holly — I Absolutely LOVE the Christmas cards! How do we get some!?   ( September 14, 2008 @ 12:59 pm )

Boys and Their Toys

I have to admit… the Wii is fun.  And it has become such a great bribing tool in the Marriott house, but also the object of many tantrums and tears.  And we haven’t even started talking about the kids yet!!!!  :)

What happened to going outside to play?  You know, sports, games, TAG?  The other night the boys have the t-ball stand set up in the family room and wiffle balls are soaring through the air.  My first reaction is to start yelling, but somehow I managed to somewhat calmly ask what they were doing.  “We are just practicing our swings so we can be better at the Wii.”  It’s not going to be so cute when they use that line as they take off in my car so they can practice for Mario Kart.

Jane — There was a reason those types of games were never allowed in our house! Good luck!   ( September 8, 2008 @ 7:22 pm )

Mandy — I think Ryan is going to be the first to try and take off in your car for Mario Kart practice. That's just my bet! :) It looks like fun in YOUR house, but I think we are going to pass on having one of those in our house. You have to remember the grace and coordination my son has and then picture him trying to "practice" for when Kelly gets home. I wouldn't have one thing not broken in my house. That would be Trouble.   ( September 9, 2008 @ 6:18 pm )

Jen — I have to admit...this does look fun and makes me want to get a Wii for Christmas =) Yeah, it will be more time in front of the tv...but doesn't that mean more work time for me =)   ( September 9, 2008 @ 6:43 pm )

Jennifer Bowen — Hey Marnee, enjoying your blog and cracking up at the Wii shots. We just got one and our 3 year old LOVES her princess game. Its hard to get her to turn it off, so can relate :)   ( September 15, 2008 @ 2:05 pm )
