Lauren, it’s Beautiful!

We just finished up the album design for Lauren and Don… I’m loving the color.  What do you think? Here’s a sneak peak of a few of the spreads we designed.

Becca and Jake’s Gallery is Online

Whew!  I try really hard to keep the total number of images to 500-800 MAX.  Really, any more than that is just RIDICULOUS to go through, and very repetitive.  However, between the bridal shoot, the temple in the AM, and the reception that evening, I just couldn’t get it narrowed down… so grab a coke (my drink of choice)… something to munch on, a comfy chair and sit back and enjoy.  For those who really don’t want to see all 1200 images… I put together a highlight section of the day.  It’ll take just a few minutes and has 100 or so images, retouched and looking good.  Click here to login.  If you don’t have the password, email Becca or me (or leave a comment), and I will be happy to give it to you.

Museum Time with Nema

I’m not sure who loves living close to my parents more… my kids, my parents, or me.  All I know is we are pretty lucky to have “Nema and Hepa” close by to spend so much time with the kids.

We had a great summer and did a couple excursions to some of the museums in Phoenix.  We were excited to try out the new Children’s Museum (thanks Kelley - we are doing her wedding on Saturday, and she has devoted every waking moment making this a great reality).  We also love going to the Science Center - a definite favorite with the boys.  They had a great “grossology” exhibit this summer… all on the “gross” things our bodies do.  Surprisingly, this was really well-done and very “cute”.  You know, the way burping, puking, tooting, and snotty noses can be “cute”.

The kids love it when Nema comes to the museums with us!  Thanks Nema!

This was the “leaky faucet”.  Kate loved it.  The boys were so unsure about the “gook” that dripped out of his nose as he talked.  Yeah, I’m unsure about that too, when it happens to you, Parker and Ryan, but I still love you!

Yes, Kate is growing up.  She was so excited that she is a big kid now… has to do everything her brothers do.

Jen — Wow, Kate is such a doll! We want to come with you...sorry we haven't yet!   ( August 27, 2008 @ 2:04 pm )

Mandy — Too cute! Bummed we missed the "grossology" but maybe next time. I think the "belch a baby" part is kind of disturbing but I'm sure the kids had a blast. Hopefully next time we'll be able to make it.   ( August 28, 2008 @ 11:26 pm )

Julee — Looks like such a fun place! The kids are growing so quickly--especially Kate!   ( August 29, 2008 @ 1:48 pm )

Becca — Wow, Kate looks so grown up! By the way I love all the stuff you are doing with your photography! It's amazing and fun to look at all the things you post.   ( August 29, 2008 @ 10:29 pm )

The Bridal Boudoir Sitting

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to Leanne!  She was the perfect model and soooo easy to work with!  Plus, it didn’t hurt that she is absolutely gorgeous and quite photogenic… so it really did make my job easier!

Bridal Boudoir portraits have become more popular this last year or two, and to be perfectly honest, I’m excited to jump in and try  my hand.  I usually shoot on location and love to shoot in natural light as much as possible.  One, because natural light truly is gorgeous and flattering, but also, because it is much easier.

One of the most exciting elements of these boudoir sittings, for me, is working with light to create sexy and seductive light and shadows.  Light is so powerful and really truly creates such different moods.

I was a little nervous about my first shoot - how to work the light in the most flattering and dramatic ways. But, Leanne was such a great model, and LaTricia was such a huge help with ideas, lighting, and support. Thank you both! And thank you, Jennifer, for all your on-location lighting and posing help!  :)

So the idea behind the bridal boudoir sitting is to create romantic, sexy, yet tasteful and classy images to present to your husband as a wedding gift.  Wow… what a treat!  We can create albums, portfolios, or canvas wraps of these images - however you would like to present the gift.

Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts about these sittings… is it something you would do?  If you would like to check out a few of the images we got from Leanne’s shoot, check out the following post and use the password, BOUDOIR.  I wanted to keep it private from any readers who would prefer not to see these images.
