Kelley and John’s Engagement

I love these guys.  They are so much fun… and they are getting married in just 3 short months!  Wahoo!  (Are you guys ready?!?!)  I can’t wait for their wedding.  Kelley and John promise it will be a very unique night.

The sunset shot is WHY WE LIVE IN AZ!  Seriously… there are very few places that have sunsets like this.  And the good news is - we will definitely be getting some more in August.  Pretty much the best reason to get married in August in AZ.  It may be HOT, but it is by far the best sunset month of the year because of the MONSOONS that bring in those great clouds.

Good luck Kelley and John.  I can’t wait for your big day.  You guys rock!  I’ve had so much fun getting to know you these last several months.

Kelley — Thank you so much for the kind words Marnee! John and I absolutely love working with you and feel absolutely blessed to have you as our photographer. You are the best! Speaking of sunsets, John and I just received news that our pyrotechnic crew is going to do a sunset fireworks show for us as a wedding present...YAHOO :) That should definitely make for some fun wedding day photos :)   ( May 15, 2008 @ 12:21 am )

Family Photo Session Take 1

I have so many ideas that I want to try out with my own kids, but never get the opportunity or the cooperation to do it.  I do have quite a few photos of my kids around the house, but not nearly as many as I would LOVE to have.  What I do not have, is a FAMILY photo.  It is soooo hard to be photographer and subject the same time… especially with three little kids!  Our friends, the Richards, came to California with us this last week and we had a blast!  Mandy has assisted me with many weddings over the last several years.  I have photographed her kids since birth and have talked her into several family shoots over the years as well.  Well, I think she finally really had her work cut out for her.  She had the responsibility to not only wrestle the attention of 2 boys and a baby, but to create the “perfect” family photo for me.  Granted, I’ve been doing this long enough to know that “perfect” does not mean sitting and smiling.  In fact, some of my favorites are of my family just being themselves.  The image is far from perfect, but a true reflection of us.  I have hundreds of images to go through… and client work a mile long.  So, for now, here is a sneak peak of our family on the beach (60 degree, cloudy weather, but oh well!).  I will definitely be getting more images online soon.  I just had to include this one of Kate.  She is a little beach baby.  LOVED the sand.  LOVED LOVED LOVED it.  I was so surprised and shocked.  I tried putting her down on a towel.  NOPE.  She immediately crawled right off to start exploring the soft stuff.  It was so fun to watch her explore.

Jen — OH MY! LOVE IT, love Parker looking back at the water. It's super cute. And I also love the blue against the sky and sand, it's nice to get away from the typical white that everyone does. Now I want to convince you to come out there with me in the Fall to shoot our family! Great job Mandy, these look awesome!   ( May 14, 2008 @ 12:57 am )

Anne — Beautiful! I want the picture of Kate in high res so I can put it up on my wall. Precious!   ( May 14, 2008 @ 6:41 pm )

Mike — Seeing Kate in the sand just makes me happy!   ( May 16, 2008 @ 12:50 pm )

Mandy — I agree with Mike, seeing Kate in the sand makes me happy too! She sure was a little dare devil out there and could care less how much sand got on her (and in her). What a trooper. Although the boys were more concerned with the water and Kate was more fascinated by the sand, you all still look super cute! We had a great time!   ( May 21, 2008 @ 3:34 pm )

Marriott Photography » Grace and Jackson — [...] several weddings over the years and has quite a good eye for photography.  She photographed our family at the beach and I got a few shots of hers and the kids.  I must say, I love the white at the beach on the [...]   ( May 21, 2008 @ 5:05 pm )

Jack

Love this guy!  He is so handsome and fun!  These are my favorite storyboards for kids… I love to truly capture their personality and all of the fun expressions.  This was a huge hit with mom and dad…

Paij and Chad

Paij and Chad got married in March in the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple. They had their reception that evening at this great park in front of their house.  They live in a cul-du-sac that surrounds this great park.  It was truly an ideal setting for a wedding reception.  I have never seen such elaborate decorations and details.  It was a photographer’s dream!  And the colors were so vibrant and rich… I LOVED IT!

Paij was here this morning selecting the final pages for her album, and I just had to share some of the layouts she will be receiving in her final book.  They were such a great couple.  I really truly enjoyed working with them.

Birthday Surprise

Kathleen contacted me to photograph a birthday surprise in the grandest scheme… relatives flew in from all over the country to celebrate 4 “BIG” birthdays this year.  We had a blast getting to know this wonderful family.

Here is a highlight from one of the family album pages we created to record this event.
