Last week we completed our first two days of this amazing charity event and want to send a HUGE thank you to all the families involved!!!  We were able to raise $500 for New Covenant Lutheran Church and Preschool.  It is especially humbling during these “hard economic times” (wow, I hate using that cliche but honestly, it is the only way to say it), that we had so many people jump on board to support a local school and church to help benefit the children of our community.

The event itself is always a blast!  I can’t get enough of watching the kids react to these baby chicks.  Their reactions are so real and unscripted and just too cute!  A big thank you to Jennifer Garbett, my amazing friend and fellow photographer that teams up to make this event possible, and my mom and sister that help pull off the dirty (yes, dirty - we’re talking toddlers and baby chicks here) work to make this event successful!

She seriously was sooooo calm and somehow transferred that energy to the little chick.  It sat there on her hand for several minutes!  I was amazed at how gentle she was!!!

And then you photograph the boys… and well, calm, gentle, and boys just don’t usually go together. He actually was quite careful… I promise no chicks were hurt during these photo sessions… but I got a kick out of the way boys handled the chicks and the way the girls did…
